AI readiness assessment

AI readiness assessment: A structured check of whether a workflow or organisation has the owner, accessible representative data, process stability, risk tolerance and measurement needed to run AI in production.

Why it matters

Readiness is most useful when scored per workflow rather than per company, because one team can be ready to automate document intake while another has no owner, no data access and no metric. Scoring workflows also produces a ranked shortlist, which is exactly what a first build needs.

  • AI maturity model: A staged framework, often five levels, describing an organisation's overall capability to use AI. Useful for investment planning; less actionable than per-workflow readiness.

Where it comes up

In practice

In a Sudo Sapient engagement this is settled in the one-week Discover phase, before any build starts. The studio's process is on sudosapient.com.
