AI maturity model
AI maturity model: A staged framework, often five levels, describing an organisation's overall capability to use AI. Useful for investment planning; less actionable than per-workflow readiness.
Why it matters
Maturity models help leadership see the shape of the journey, from experiments to one production system to a platform of shared components and governance. Their risk is that companies spend months assessing their level instead of shipping. Treat the model as a map, and let shipped workflows, not workshops, move you up it.
Related terms
- AI readiness assessment: A structured check of whether a workflow or organisation has the owner, accessible representative data, process stability, risk tolerance and measurement needed to run AI in production.
In practice
In a Sudo Sapient engagement this is settled in the one-week Discover phase, before any build starts. The studio's process is on sudosapient.com.
