Generative engine optimisation (GEO)
Generative engine optimisation (GEO): A term largely synonymous with AEO: optimising for visibility and citation in generative AI search results.
Why it matters
Generative engine optimisation overlaps heavily with good SEO, but adds a few specific practices: being cited by third-party sources that answer engines trust, keeping entity facts consistent across the web, answering sub-questions that engines fan out into, and checking that AI crawlers can actually fetch your pages. Evidence on many tactics is still thin, which is why this hub tests them.
